Gio (GEE-oh), more formally called Giovanni, or even more formally Mals-About Prime Meridian, is a Spinone Italiano. He was born May 10, 2004 and joined the Newcomer household on July 2 after a long ride from his birthplace near Louisville, Kentucky.

By Christmas, he was at his full size of 85 pounds. By then he had already traveled to the New Jersey Shore and Maine. Besides traveling, he enjoys hunting in the backyard, chewing things (mostly things he's allowed to have), doggie day camp at DogSports or Happy Hounds, and playing with his Spinone buddies Alfie and Oscar.
